Is makeup removal important in care?

Many people think that typical make-up removal consists only in removing the remnants of make-up from the skin surface. And yet make-up removal is a procedure that is much more important for our skin. It should also be done by those people who do not use too much makeup on a daily basis or do not completely make up their makeup, and use only sunscreen creams. Daily make-up removal is the perfect way to refresh the skin, prepare it for further care treatments and remove those impurities and bacteria from its surface that are responsible for imperfections appearing on the face. Getting rid of makeup, excess sebum, dust, dirt, sweat, bacteria and any impurities will allow you to perfectly prepare the skin for face cream, serum or other cosmetic with care properties. Although we are not always aware of it, a carefully and correctly performed face and eye make-up removal can also protect us from premature aging of the skin. Poorly cleansed skin regenerates worse and is more difficult to exfoliate, which makes it gray, devoid of healthy glow and full of clogged pores. However, it is very important in this case with what cosmetics and methods we cleanse the skin with. The skin can be cleaned with a cleansing gel or even a special skin cleansing oil. Remember to wash your face carefully, not only in the evening, but also in the morning, each time before applying cosmetics and make-up. When we sleep on our skin, impurities also collect, which are a barrier to the active ingredients of the cream, serum or foundation.

Does skin type influence make-up removal?

The make-up removal cosmetics used should be properly selected for the type of skin - otherwise, daily skin cleansing may harm us more than help us. Make-up removal is also care, so we have to choose preparations that will be able to improve the condition of the skin and make it ideally prepared for further cosmetic treatments.

How to choose the products according to your skin type?

Dry skin

The best way to cleanse your skin is to use a gentle facial cleansing foam, which is then rinsed off with plenty of water. It is worth choosing to use a make-up remover, which will have moisturizing properties. When cleansing dry skin, you should definitely use preparations with a thick and slightly greasy consistency, which will effectively strengthen the skin's protective barrier, and at the same time protect it from the unpleasant feeling of tightness and burning. Their composition should therefore include substances such as: hyaluronic acid, vegetable oils or glycerin.

Oily skin

Oily skin is in opposition to dry skin, which is why you should choose completely different cosmetics for its cleansing. This type of skin is best washed with a degreased gel designed for oily skin. A well-chosen cosmetic will remove excess sebum from the skin, cleanse it and tighten enlarged pores. At the end of the oily skin cleansing stage, it is worth washing it with a face tonic with matting properties to reduce its tendency to shine.

Mixed skin

Combination skin is an extremely difficult type of skin in daily face care due to its complex characteristics. Cosmetics for cleansing combination skin should combine moisturizing and matting properties to meet all its needs. It is worth using two types of make-up remover cosmetics: cleanse the oily skin in the T-zone with a matting gel and face tonic, while the dry and sensitive skin on the cheeks, around the eyes and temples, treat it with a delicate cleansing milk or micellar lotion.

Acne skin

In the case of acne-prone skin, some cosmetics should additionally have some antibacterial properties. With this type of skin, it is best to use a special, soft sponge or brush for cleansing, which more thoroughly removes impurities responsible for acne and the expansion of pores, and also improves blood circulation in the skin, remember that brushes or sponges intended for make-up removal are disposable! Throw away and use a new sponge after each use, as a single use is a large build-up of bacteria.

Sensitive skin

Treat sensitive skin in the same way as with dry skin - make-up removers should have moisturizing and slightly moisturizing properties. With sensitive skin, we must make sure that the cosmetics are also hypoallergenic - that is, they contain the least amount of dyes, preservatives and fragrances that increase the risk of redness and weakening of the skin.

Which makeup remover for sensitive eyes?

When cleansing the skin every day, it is very important to be able to separate the face make-up removal from the make-up remover. It should be remembered that the skin around the eyes is one of the thinnest, most delicate and sensitive. All eye care treatments must be performed with great care, delicacy and caution. The skin around the eyes is one of those places on our body that is virtually entirely devoid of sebaceous glands. The skin in this place has almost no natural and fatty protective barrier that would be able to protect us from the harmful effects of the sun, wind, frost or temperature changes. Therefore, regardless of the type of skin we have, cosmetics for eye make-up removal should be richer in moisturizing ingredients and even delicate oiling substances that will help the skin strengthen its hydro-lipid layer. Eye make-up removal should also be performed with the use of cosmetics with a mild composition - the skin in this area is very sensitive and may react with irritation and redness to excessively strong ingredients of care preparations. Due to the high susceptibility to mechanical damage to the skin around the eyes, we should avoid sudden movements and strong rubbing of the skin when removing makeup.

Proper make-up removal step by step.

Make-up removal should always start from the eyes - due to the strongest impurities that make-up cosmetics (mascara, eyeliner, eye shadows) cause. Eye make-up removal should be performed with the use of a specially designed cleansing preparation in order to reduce the risk of skin irritation, allergic reactions or wrinkles.

If we are used to using waterproof cosmetics, we should remove eye makeup with special cosmetics with strong properties that dissolve grease and dirt - traditional preparations may require us to rub the skin strongly to obtain a satisfactory effect. For this reason, waterproof cosmetics should not be used by people who deal with sensitive skin around the eyes on a daily basis.

When washing your face with the gel, first moisten the skin of the face and neck with water, then apply a small amount of the preparation on your hands, spread it gently on the skin until a foam forms, and then rinse.

Always use lukewarm or even cool water to wash your face - hot water dissolves and washes away the natural protective barrier of the epidermis, and thus weakens our skin.

In the final stage of cleansing the skin, you should wash your face with a refreshing tonic, it helps to restore the skin's proper pH and prepare it for the cream.

Remember that removing makeup is supposed to be a pleasure, not an unpleasant duty and a torture for our skin. When removing makeup, do not forget about the neck and chin, which also collect dirt and which are prone to imperfections or aging.
