Orthovisc is a sterile, non-pyrogenic preparation for intra-articular injections, containing sodium hyaluronate at a concentration of 15 mg/ml. The product acts as a substitute for synovial fluid – it supports joint lubrication, reduces friction, and helps limit mechanical stress within the joint. It is used in the non-surgical treatment of symptoms related to synovial joint dysfunction, especially in cases of osteoarthritis. Active ingredients:

• Saline solution - forms the base of the preparation and enables proper administration of sodium hyaluronate into the joint space.
• Osmolarity 340 mOsm - supports the appropriate physicochemical properties of the preparation intended for intra-articular injection.

The product does not contain a needle.

How to use:

The preparation is intended exclusively for use by a physician or an appropriately qualified specialist. Orthovisc should be injected slowly into the selected joint space using a sterile, disposable hypodermic needle of the appropriate size. The final decision regarding needle selection and the treatment regimen is made by the person performing the procedure. The best results may appear after completing a treatment cycle consisting of 3 injections.

Contraindications:

• hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the preparation
• skin infection near the planned injection site
• joint infection
• systemic bleeding
• active inflammation at the treatment site
• blood clotting disorders
• use of anticoagulant medications without medical consultation
• pregnancy and breastfeeding, unless otherwise decided by a physician
• fever or active systemic infection
